Welcome to the Northern Territory’s own short film competition.

Please read the following very carefully – we wouldn’t want all your hard work making a film going to waste because it didn’t fulfil the entry requirements!

  5. All entries must be submitted on MiniDV tape or DVD;

  13. Entries must not have been screened publicly prior to entry.

NB. Entrants who do not accept and adhere to the above will not be eligible for judging.

Judging

  • Entries to the New Shoots Section will be shortlisted by the Fist Full of Films Selection Panel before being submitted to the FFF Judging Panel, a group of nationally and internationally respected Australian film industry professionals.
  • Finalists will be notified by Friday 27 July 2007.
  • Non-finalists will not be contacted and should assume their entry has not qualified for judging if they have not been contacted. (If this does occur, please don’t be discouraged – ask for feedback, improve your skills, go to the screenings and see where you might have gone wrong, and try again next year!).
  • Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. However, entrants may request feedback on their entry from the FFF Selection Panel after the Darwin screenings by emailing the FFF Producer.
  • Judges will select five entries to receive Galah Awards, chosen from among the following categories:

    Best Film

    Best Screenplay

    Best Production

    Best Soundtrack

    Best Actor (male or female)

    Best Cinematography

    Best Editing

The winner of the Deckchair Cinema Best Film – New Shoots Section Award will receive $250, courtesy of the Darwin Film Society.
