WELCOME
Welcome to Fist Full of Films, the Northern Territory's own short film competition.
Here's your chance to get into filmmaking. Whether you're a young,
accomplished or emerging filmmaker or animator there's a Fist Full of
Films category for you - Homegrown, New Shoots, Long Shorts and Fone
Flix for NT residents and Out There for interstate and international
entrants (see page links above for more details).
Fist Full of Films' goal is to promote quality short filmmaking in the Territory, so everything we do is about giving you the opportunity to make a short film, with workshops, forums and a network to help you access the skills and expertise you need to get started (see Screen Skills Series link).
Fist Full of Films has been running since 1999 and since then we have received numerous entries from young, emerging and accomplished filmmakers from all over the Northern Territory.
Screenings are held in Darwin as part of the Darwin Festival in August under a starry dry season sky at the amazing Deckchair Cinema. The Galah Awards night brings out the cream of Territory film and arts culture to view the films, receive awards, cheer, cry, shmoose, drink bubbly and generally have a great night out. Screenings in other Territory centres follow (keep an eye on updates on the SCREENINGS page).
Have a look around the site, where you'll
find Guidelines entry conditions for each competition category,
screenings details and updates, details of the Screen Skills
Series and even some Top Tips to help you on your film-making journey.
